Power Yoga is a fluid and dynamic practice with its roots on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa. Linking breath and movement, this practice is designed to awaken the nervous system and to renew vitality, leaving you energised. It’s challenging, with opportunities to try advanced postures such as arm balances and inversions but modifications will be given so it’s more accessible for beginners. Expect an energising class, with uplifting music. Come with an open and playful mind; leave your ego at the door and don’t be afraid to fly or fall!

Originally from Portugal, Catarina met the yoga practice 7 years ago in London, where she lived and worked in the film industry. She started practicing yoga for the physical side of it, to overcome the chronic back pain and injury but soon realised the healing benefits not only in the body but also in the mind.
Catarina loves the challenge and the movement in yoga, but more importantly the philosophy and meditative side which has really impacted her life both on and off the mat.
Believing that the key for life is balance, Catarina teaches dynamic classes based in Ashtanga with continuous movement, as well slow paced yoga as Yin Yoga where the aim is to find stillness. In both, the challenge will be there, allowing modifications to push yourself a little further in a safe place.
Catarina qualified as a yoga teacher in December 2015, after completing a 200 hours Ashtanga Vinyasa and Rocket Yoga Teacher Training. Seeing herself as an eternal student, she kept up with her trainings completing another 200 hours of Yin & Acupressure and Mandala & Shamanism with The Yoga People.
Currently she lives in Odeceixe – Aljezur Portugal where she teaches regularly.
